I met up with Cassidie and Dean for this Wailea beach session on a beautiful day in Hawaii. We started on the Wailea Beach Path. The path runs along Wailea beach and the big resorts. A little dirt path led us off this main thoroughfare and onto a tiny beach. The sounds of the nearby tourists immediately disappeared. It was so peaceful. The palm trees swayed and the surf rolled gently onto the beach. There was a healthy breeze that whipped around Cassidie’s hair. It felt like we could have been on a deserted island all to ourselves. This beach is one of my favorite places on all Maui. They loved the spot too and had a blast running around and finding things to climb on. There are lots of black rocks jutting out from the water. It makes this a fantastic snorkeling spot as well.
Hotel Wailea, Relais and Châteaux
The sun began to set and we headed to the Hotel Wailea where we were all staying. The hotel itself is gorgeous. It sits 300 feet above the ocean and has terrific views. There are winding paths through gardens, waterfalls, and a stream running throughout. There’s even a luxurious treehouse overlooking Wailea, Kihei, and Northwest Maui. We spent a few minutes wondering the area until the light finally fizzled out behind the mountains.
