The Mason Dallas

This was my first chance to photograph The Mason Dallas wedding venue in Oak Cliff. The building was a Masonic Lodge in a previous life. Now it is a gorgeous French, meets New Orleans style host for weddings and events. Planners Kelsey and Rachel reached out to me to capture their idea for an editorial here. They wanted to bring a little edge to this elegant backdrop. Rust, Copper, and amber colors set a moodier tone to things. They coupled that with velvet textures, candlelight, and a dramatic wardrobe. It also did not hurt that it happened to be a dark, rainy winter day.

Lounge

The black velvet sofa with amber ghost chairs from Bella Acento made for great lounging. The over-the-top floral instillation make it even more striking.

The Wedding Cake

The wedding cake by XO Cakery was a showstopper. Surrounded by climbing florals and a picture frame, it appears as a three dimensional painting.

Downstairs Reception Tables

The downstairs area was utilized for reception tables and desert bar. The formal head table featured almond-shaded Amalfi charger and dinner plates. Black porcelain salad plates and b&b plate, gunmetal rimmed glassware and copper flatware rounded things off. Root + Bloom’s lush, floral arrangements were set in copper compotes are the stars here though.
