Tented wedding receptions are common along the East Coast, but it’s not often we get to celebrate a Texas tented ranch wedding. Hosting an event on private property is always a unique opportunity. This family ranch allowed the couple to married at a tower built by the grooms mother just for the wedding. The groom was able to get ready in his parents home. There was even a late night party at a custom saloon! Every piece of the property played a part and now holds incredible memories for the family.

While these clients reside in the Philippines, they knew when planning their wedding day, an event in Texas is what they wanted. The couple sourced inspiration from the grounds of the property for their wedding invitations. Illustrations of Oak Trees were drawn on the custom suite, a nod to the familiar Texas tree. Similarly, parasols and rattan fans were available for guests and the bridal party, bringing a bit of Asian influence to the event.

We’d be remiss to take a minute to talk about our bride’s fashion. Not only was the gown crafted just for her, but it was made by a designer local to the bride’s hometown in Southern California. Even the guests came dressed in their most stylish cocktail attire.

After a candlelit tented dinner and dances with loved ones, the reception kicked up a notch. Cigars, cowboy hats, empty tequila bottles filled the tent before everyone migrated to the DJ afterparty at the saloon. And our stylish bride? A dress change was certainly in order. Her low-back shift dress didn’t disappoint and made dancing the night away a breeze with her dapper new husband.

The Verdict

All things considered, this day was sentimental, beautiful and ended with a killer party. Exactly the weddings we love to photograph.
