Are you envisioning an extraordinary, stylish wedding? Perhaps an event hosted in a simple yet dramatic venue. A place with both stunning modern architecture and beautiful expansive nature outdoors. Prospect House is the perfect wedding venue for you. This venue has quickly become a favorite of artistic wedding vendor creatives. The modern design allows room for creativity and self expression. It is not only a place for local Texans either. Couples from around the world have chosen Prospect House for their wedding celebrations.
Prospect House is located in Dripping Springs, Texas. It lies on a private 20-acre Hill Country site. Though in the country, it’s only a twenty-five minute drive from downtown Austin. Designed by award-winning architect Max Levy, Prospect House is a modern event space. It was always intended to host weddings, receptions, and other special events. This striking architecture is set amongst the majestic hill country landscape. It includes several indoor and outdoor spaces for the most flexibility. The area surrounding Prospect House was designed by Ten Eyck Landscape Architects. It features native prairie grasses and trees, integrating the clean-lined architecture and hardscapes. This gallery-like space provides lots of natural light and a simple material palette. The outdoor sites are designed to take advantage of the Texas Hill Country views.
Prospect House is different than other nearby wedding venues. It’s entire layout was designed with special events and weddings in mind. The configuration of various interior and exterior spaces flow together. They provide tons of flexibility for guests to create the wedding of their dreams.
At the same time, Prospect House looks great without any additions. The design, though minimal, feels full of character. The colors mimic the stone used for traditional buildings all around central Texas. The metal exterior somehow compliments the landscape around it. The seasons also become part of the wedding decoration, especially Spring and Summer. Beautiful wildflowers bloom all around the property.
Prospect House’s Main Hall is a 3,000 square foot air conditioned space. The Hall is perfect for wedding receptions. Guests can enjoy dinner and dancing without breaking a sweat. That’s important in the scorching Texas Summers. The space is flooded with natural light and 15 foot tall ceilings. It has built-in banquet seating and direct access to the Biergarten outside. The Hall has a capacity for up to 220 seated guests. The Main Hall also features enough room for a band and DJ or a large dance party after the ceremony.
The Breezway welcomes guests into the festivities. The space is 2,000 square feet, covered, and screened-in. This entry hall features exposed framing and breathtaking views of the main outdoor ceremony space. The Breezeway provides shaded space for guests to mingle before and after the wedding ceremony. It can also be reconfigured into a covered ceremony site in case of inclement weather. It’s a great option to have, especially in the springtime!
This large lawn is covered with native grasses and surrounded by rows of Texas Red Oaks. It features a simple altar area. The large white square metal frame is a statement maker. Couples can leave it bare or cover it with florals. There is lots of room for creative couples to adapt it to their personal taste and style. Behind the altar, wedding guests have the perfect long-distance views of the rolling hills. The Texas Hill Country vistas are worth the price of admission. When a ceremony occurs right before sunset, the backdrop is bathed in golden light. It all creates an incredible atmosphere that most nearby wedding venues can’t touch.
Little Tree is an alternate small outdoor ceremony space. It sits under a group of mature live oaks next to an old dry-stacked stone wall. This is a good option for elopements or small intimate gatherings.
This 1500 square foot outdoor space includes a tree canopy and built-in bench seating. It also has a concrete and steel outdoor bar, cafe tables, and next to the Main Hall. The Biergarten is another space for guests to mingle before and after the ceremony. It also provides a place for guests to get away from loud music and talk during the reception. Enjoying the sunset here is always a guest favorite.
Prospect House provides couples, their photographer, and videographer a wealth of options. It’s easy to create memorable, artistic images. There is striking modern architecture and various expansive outdoor settings. Natural foliage and trees also surround the area. Prospect House offers many palettes to create on.
Are you are a couple with a taste for modern art and architecture? Perhaps natural Texas landscapes are your thing? Either way, you will be blown away by what Prospect House has to offer. I especially enjoy using the natural beauty of these settings. Incorporating them into images can bring out your style and personality. I love sharing in the creative process with couples. Making meaningful visual mementos of your most important day is always my goal.
Weddings are life changing events. They deserve to be hosted in a magnificent setting. Prospect House is such a setting. The designers’ and builders’ vision for creating the most versatile modern space is seen in every detail.
