Maggie and Sean’s Downtown Dallas Engagement Session was so much fun. Emily and I have known Maggie for years and she is always a joy to be around. She’s fun, creative, and has a unique eye for style. Sean is engaging and positive. He’s an amazing match for Maggie because he brings out her personality even more. It’s like you get an elevated version of Maggie when she’s with him. Honestly, that’s what a great partner does for the other, right?
One thing I love about Maggie is that she does not settle for the status quo. I knew she’d be up for getting creative so I didn’t hesitate to shoot lots of film. I used a combo of my Rolleiflex, Pentax 645, and Holga film cameras, in addition to my digital camera. We also captured some motion blur and after dark images with a little more edge to them.

How We Met
“Sean and I met on a Friday night at a bar called Knodding Donkey here in Dallas (I know, romantic, right?). The only reason we met here though is because his best friend happened to be dating my best friend. They invited us both out that night since Sean had recently moved there. Plus, my friend didn’t want to be there by herself with the boys.”
“Once we met, we were by each other’s sides all night and throughout the weekend. Monday morning, I got a text asking me out to dinner that same week. Our first date was April 3rd, 2019 and we have been inseparable since!”
Why We Love Each Other
“First and foremost, we are each other’s best friend. We cheer each other on, support one another through the good and rough times, and check in with one another. We share very similar core values and viewpoints on the big things in life.”
“Beyond all of that, Sean is the happiest person you will ever meet. He has a joy and lust for life that could inspire even the emptiest of hearts. I always tell people he could make friends with a tree stump, he gets people talking. He pushes me to be my best and I do the same for him. He reminds me to look at life with optimism and constantly tells me that I can do whatever is put in front of me. We both bring things to the table that have helped build a strong relationship.”
Wardrobe
“Sean and I love any excuse to dress up. I chose this flowery piece from Milla for the first half of our session. Sean chose a sand-colored suit to compliment the pink on my dress. The blue brings out the color in his eyes so well and we had so much fun putting it all together.”
“The second outfit, I wanted to do something bold. I found this bright orange dress and knew this would pop against the blue skies of Dallas. Sean wore a light blue button down to offset the orange of my dress.”
Dallas Engagement Session
“We chose to have our photos done here in Dallas because this is where it all began for us. Without this city and our friends here, we would not be where we are today, let alone know one another existed! This is where we are putting our roots for the foreseeable future. Whether we stay forever or for a little while, this city will always hold a very special place in our hearts.”
The Engagement Session Experience
“I have known Jeff since I was 19 year old when I first worked with him on a shoot here in Dallas. Having him as our photographer was a must-have when the wedding planning began. I knew Jeff would be able to direct, guide, and help Sean and I bring out the love we share for each other in our pictures.”
“He did just that. In true Jeff fashion, he had maybe 6 different cameras with him, tons of ideas, and kept us feeling comfortable and reminded us to have fun. He kept things unique, which was my biggest ask and his strongest trait as a photographer. Jeff makes images different from what you see everywhere else.”
“We could not have asked for a better photographer for this special time.”
The Results
“Jeff got a little bit of everything in our pictures. He let us be our individual selves in some and brought us back together in the rest. He got us laughing, smiling, and helped us relax while he worked his magic.”
“The detail, lighting, and overall care that went into each and every photo has made this entire experience an absolute dream. It excites me even more for my bridals and for our wedding day. I know he will do everything possible to capture every moment, every feeling, and all the love.”
